The annual Messrs. W and M.J. Rossiter and Sons Ltd Golden Charter bowls tournament for members of the Tenby, Saundersfoot and Whitland clubs took place on Bank Holiday Monday at the Sutton Street green. Twenty four pairs from the three clubs played an all day competition , firstly in groups of six, followed by the knock out stages. After the quarter final, two exciting semi-finals took place with Glyndwr Thomas and Nigel Davies from Whitland defeating Paul Blayney and Sue Roden of Saundersfoot, by five shots to four and Dai Spencer and Ashley Hooper, narrowly beating Ashley Reese and Katie Thomas by the same score.

In the final, it was Glyndwr and Nigel who came out on top, with Paul and Sue winning the other game to decide third place. At the presentation ceremony, Tenby Chairman Fred Broomhead thanked all the competitors, Lynn for organising the event, Christine, Jean, Carol and the girls who manned the kitchen and the Rossiter family for their continued sponsorship of the event. Simon Rossiter, on behalf of the family, then presented the prizes, adding his thanks to all involved, before inviting everyone to partake of what was a splendid buffet. Next year, the competition will be held in Saundersfoot with Whitland being the venue in 2017.
