Haverfordwest Tasker v Tenby Arches Ladies

Tenby HouseHAVERFORDWEST TASKER 2 pts. TENBY ARCHES LADIES 4
10th July 2016

This game finished with one rink winning comfortably and the other losing heavily on a difficult playing surface at Haverfordwest. With a superior shot count overall, the Tenby ladies returned home with another four league points to keep them in contention at the top of the table. Helen skipped the rink of Meryl, Jan and Gerry and after winning the first end were never able to get into the game. At the midway stage, they had a 10 shots deficit and their form did not improve, finally losing 27 shots to 13. On the outside rink, skip Alison was supported by Lynn, Katie and Jo, who were having a much better day than Helen’s quartet. Eleven-year-old Katie Dickinson was playing her first league game for the Arches ladies and what a game she had. Once she switched her play from the backhand to her forehand, she consistently got woods close to the jack and helped her rink to an impressive 33 shots to nine win, which included a six shots haul on the penultimate end. Well done Katie and the ladies for helping you through this first game. The 46 shots to 36 win was another high scoring game for the Tenby Arches Ladies, who are sponsored by Tenby House Hotel.
