Tenby House Hotel

Tenby House HotelSituated in the heart of historic Tenby, close to three golden beaches Tenby House is an ideal base for your stay in picturesque Pembrokeshire. There has been an inn or hotel on the site since mediaeval times. Our lively seaside pub was built by Sir William Paxton as his Tenby regency home, and we offer bed & breakfast in eighteen tastefully furnished en-suite rooms. We also provide self catering accommodation in two nearby cottages, especially suited for family holidays. Have you got a celebration coming up, and need a venue, why not take over Paxton’s Bistro? Our self contained restaurant at the rear of the courtyard is available for private functions, weddings, and parties. On the way back from a hard day at the beach? Then pop in with the family for a refreshing pint or a bite to eat in one of our bars or beer garden. Sit back and watch the premiership on Sky. We have all the big football, rugby and cricket here on our wide screens. Freshly prepared meals are available daily and we are proud to use Pembrokeshire produce whenever possible.   Make sure you check out our specials boards  for our fresh local seafood. Valero

ValeroValero acquired Pembroke Refinery in South West Wales in 2011, marking Valero’s entry into the European refining market. Opened in 1964, the refinery is one of the largest, most complex refineries in Western Europe. It makes products including gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and petrochemical feedstocks. About 44% of Pembroke’s products are gasolines, including ultra-low sulphur gasoline, and about 40% of products are distillates. Upgrades and installation of special equipment over the years have boosted the plant’s complexity and ability to process difficult crudes, such as acidic, heavy crude.

Molson Coors

Molson CoorsBeer is our passion, our heritage and our future.

For more than 350 years we’ve been brewing, innovating and delighting the world’s drinkers. This is what gets us out of bed in the morning:

 A Love of Beer

We create extraordinary, premium beer at breweries from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in the US to the storied Burton-on-Trent brewery in the UK, to Prague's celebrated brewing heritage in the Czech Republic, and the oldest brewery in Montreal, Canada. From our founding families and executive leaders, to our master brewers and our sales teams, we are a brewing company that loves what we do. And we never take it for granted.

A Passion for Building Extraordinary Brands

Our portfolio has more than 100 beer brands including Coors Light, Molson Canadian, Miller Lite, Carling and Staropramen, as well as craft and specialty beers like Blue Moon, Creemore Springs and Cobra. Ours is a long and successful history of building local and international brands inspired by the insights we gain from talking to our drinkers.

A Dedication to Innovation

As a brewing company in love with beer, we’re always looking for ways to challenge the expected and bring something new and exciting to our drinkers.  In 1959 we developed the first recyclable aluminum beer can. Today, new, cold-activated bottles and cans bring Coors Light’s Rocky Mountain cold refreshment to life around the world. Carling’s Home Draft allows drinkers to bring the great draft taste of the UK’s # 1 lager from the pub into their home. Recently we launched Molson M in Canada, the world’s only microcarbonated lager. Ane we have a well earned reputation as the most innovative brewer in Central Europe. We never stop learning from the people who drink our beer and that is what drives our innovation.

A Business Built on Responsible Practices

We care about the communities and the places where we brew and market our beers, just like you do.  We believe integrity, respect and accountability have to be a part of everything we do, everywhere we do it or it’s not worth doing. That’s how we do business and it won’t change.

TP Hughes

TP Hughes "Founded on value, growing on value"

Chris and Anna Mr. T.P. Hughes' slogan has been synonymous with the Tenby independent department store since it commenced trading as 12 High Street on September 29, 1903.
Having trained at William Owen, a large department store in London, he brought fresh ideas back to his native Pembrokeshire. For 20 years, he did all the buying, specialising in soft furnishings and linens and employing around 20 assistants. Flash from Tenby Observer-Click here for full size  His son Sidney was born on the same day the shop was opened, and joined the firm in 1922 when a branch was opened in Haverfordwest. This was followed by the opening of the Carmarthen store in 1932. After T.P. Hughes died in 1936, Sydney became managing director and, supported by his two sons, Tom and David, worked hard to provide department store facilities for the local community until his death in 1985.  Tom and David ensured continued prosperity with a payroll of some 220 staff until late in the 1980's when independent stores became victim of the world recession.

The Hughes family were hard - pressed to save their business and in 1987 the freehold property in Carmarthen was sold. Tom and David set about de-merging their business equity and in 1989 the Haverfordwest Business became known as Tom Hughes (now successfully run by Tom's son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Elaine, who have also re-opened in Carmarthen).  The original store in Tenby came under sole control of David's family, and his wife, Dawn, became company secretary. David's son and daughter, Chris and Anna, became successful buyers before taking the reins following his retirement in November 2003.
