St Katherines 40 v Five Arches 155
An unusual game with a number of regulars missing, this final match in this years Brains Cup had nothing resting on it as we had already lost the previous two. However with the added fortification of a number of first team players we proceeded to Milford in a positive mood. Mike with a completely new rink of Doug, Ray and JB had a comfortable win, never behind and always in control they eased to a 32-16 win. Ashley with Dai, Tony and Gwyn were again never behind and also had a straight forward win by 34-13. Talented junior Ben Cloake took over skipping duties for the first time and like the proverbial duck led his team of Ken, John and Gerald to a comprehensive 39-7 win. Usually this would be more than enough for top rink however Tony ably supported by Eamonn, Ben and the ever improving JR had other ideas and won by a massive 50-4, possibly the highest single rink score in Five Arches history. Many thanks must go to the players who stepped in at the last moment to ensure we had a full team.
