Tenby v KidwellyTENBY 86 shots KIDWELLY 120
18th April 2015

Kidwelly visited Tenby on a sunny Saturday afternoon last weekend to play their annual pre-season friendly against the Sharks as part of a two-day tour to the 'seaside'. Fielding a strong team of their own club players and a number of guests, the tourists were always going to be a difficult side to beat at such an early stage in the season, particularly with the home team themselves being made up of a mix of two `Tenby' and four `Five Arches' rinks. Captain for the day was Gerald Hewitt, who welcomed the visitors to the hallowed Sutton Street turf and, after a difficult couple of seasons, it was a pleasure to see the immaculate green almost back to its imperious best, Many remarks were made as to how fast and true it was running so early in the season - but unfortunately on this occasion it seemed to suit the Kidwelly bowlers better than Tenby, as they eventually ran out comfortable winners.

Rink scores (Tenby first, Kidwelly skips only) were:

H. Ebdon, T. Powling, G. Hewitt 16; G. Thorburn 19.
C. White. S. Peregrine, C. Court, K. Peregrine 19; K. Evans 18.
F. Broomhead. K. Lewis, P. Diment, A. Hooper 12; R. Burden 28.
B. Benham, J. Hubbard, K. Lloyd, B. Cloake 8; C. Jones 26.
J. Rees, M. Day, S. Davies, N. Dickinson 12; M. James 18.
D. Rees, H. Nicholas. P. Day, J. Roberts 19; M. Davies 11.
